Chaise Lounges
Chaise lounges are considered to be the most functional poolside patio
furniture item. With this title of most functional comes a variety of options
from style to material. Aluminum loungers are the commercial standard, but wooden loungers are perfect too. For style consider
double chaise lounges for cozy lounging enjoyment, or maybe a traditional
pool lounger with a pool out tray for holding your iced cold drink. A new addition to this category are the zero gravity chairs that adjust to your body to put you in the optimal position for relaxation.
Now who wouldn't like that? Maybe you
need to be able to move your outdoor lounge chair around, so you will definitely need
wheels for mobility.

Stretch out and take in a little sun from your favorite chaise lounge chair!
Learning about the pool chaise lounge is like opening an encyclopedia and
reading about the history of the world. This one outdoor furniture piece
incorporate a variety of styles and architectures from the French Renaissance to
today's ultra contemporary society. But we like to give credit where credit is
do and the word "chaise lounges" is an English twist on the French word or
phrase "chaise longue". The original meaning of chaise longue was long chair
during the early 1600's. It was a cross between a chair and a daybed with
multiple legs for support and to raise the base from the ground. The original
outdoor loungers were closer in design to the modern day
steamer chairs than the traditional chaise lounge we know today. These steamer chairs were designed for extreme marine environments and could be reclined for relaxation or folded when not in use. So all the groundwork was there for a great lounging chair in the making.
Today the chaise lounge is still considered the ultimate piece of outdoor
furniture. With this title has come numerous styles, finishes and material
options. The original chaise lounge featured strictly wooden construction, but
that has evolved to the popular aluminum option as it is rust proof and more
recently the eco-friendly option recycled plastic. Don't think any historians in
the 1600's could envision someone one day lounging on a chaise lounger
constructed from recycled milk jugs. Sling and strap remains the commercial go to choice and is the standard for
hotels, condo associations, and amusement parks worldwide. And for good reason
as they are designed for excessive use and all elements nature can throw at
them. Most manufacturers are so confident in their construction they offer complete warranties ranging from 3-7 years on frame material and straps. Want romance? Then double chaise loungers allow for couples to lounge or sunbathe together in comfort.
