The Uwharrie Chair Veranda 4ft. Porch Swing is what relaxing is all about. Swinging in it's most luxurious form. The swing is suspended by two included chains and held together with durable stainless steel hardware. These heavy, generously scaled products are hand crafted from thick, kiln-dried pressure treated southern yellow pine, an American renewable resource. The pine is insect and rot-resistant, providing comfortable enjoyment for many years to come. Those who prefer a splash of color to enliven their environment may choose a selection from Uwharrie Chair's color palette.
Uwharrie products are available in three finish types!
Distressed: All products with a distressed finish have a slightly more intense finish color, but have been distressed (weathered edges) to give the appearance of a time-worn antique.
Pristine: Uwharrie products can also be ordered in a "pristine" or painted finish. If you are seeking a completely painted surface with little to no distress, you should select pristine.
Washed: All products with a wash finish are painted with a very light finish. It will be possible to see the grain of the wood through the paint.
Whatever your choice, this swing will provide comfort and character for years to come.

Just south of the nation's furniture capital, High Point, North Carolina, a small rocky stream meanders through the quiet, rolling countryside. It flows by old farmsteads and new neighborhoods, dead gold mines and living forests, eventually becoming the Uwharrie River (pronounced you-WAH-ree). Ultimately, the water reaches the Uwharrie Mountains, a small range occupied centuries ago by Native Americans DeSoto called the Suala. The name "Uwharrie'' is attributed to them, a conclusion supported by references in John Lawson's 1701 journal documenting a visit to "Heighwarrie''.
Today the Uwharrie Mountains and Uwharrie National Forest are known for their abundance of wildlife, deep recreational lakes, and peaceful, natural beauty. The name is synonymous with rustic charm and relaxation, perhaps the best description of the Original Uwharrie Chair.
The Original Uwharrie Chair was created to offer not only eco-friendly all-weather seating, but classically styled, comfortably designed outdoor accents. With their rugged good looks and solid construction, the chairs and their companion pieces provide a balance of aesthetic charm and lifestyle integrity. |

A number of environmental objections plague most outdoor furniture products. Tropical lumber harvesting devastates rainforests, old growth deforestation threatens endangered species, and plastics disposal harms the environment. Whether or not these alarms are overstated, the concerns behind them are valid. Uwharrie Chair Company offers a simple alternative to imported teak, painted metal or hardwood, and molded plastic: pressure treated southern yellow pine.
The wood of choice for ski lodge decks, marina docks, and landscape walks, treated lumber offers distinct advantages over other traditional outdoor materials. It is insect and rot resistant, it may be stained or painted (or left natural), and it's milled from a renewable resource: plantation grown southern pine. Uwharrie Chair Company uses heavy, one inch thick premium grade lumber kiln dried after it has been treated. Paints used to coat Uwharrie Chair products are latex enamel.
You should expect to see some additional loss of paint and some surface cracking; exposed wood will eventually turn dark; the wood will even warp slightly from time to time. This makes each piece unique, and slightly different from the rest. Even as nature matures your furniture, the wood and the product will remain structurally sound for years to come. |
|
Partially assembled, ships Knock-Down. Item comes 70% - 90% assembled (depending on the product) with the remaining structures pre-drilled and pre-fitted for minimal set-up effort. |
|
The wood used in Uwharrie Chair products is warranted against termites and decay when used in normal environmental conditions. The hardware is also warranted against corrosion due to exposure to normal environmental conditions.
The original consumer is entitled to receive new wood replacement parts for damage to rot or termites. The original consumer is also entitled to replacement hardware if any screws or bolts experience corrosion under normal environmental conditions. |

Curb-side delivery
All deliveries are curb side only unless previously agreed.
Curb-side delivery is performed to avoid any possible damage that may occur while unloading and moving the product from the delivery truck to your home. All of our products are securely packed using foam, cardboard and shrink wrap as they travel directly from the warehouse. It would be very unfortunate, if the small trip between the delivery truck and your home, the product pieces are subjected to unnecessary damage. Curb-side delivery is highly beneficial for the consumer, as the consumer himself can take the effort and time to appropriately maneuver the product inside the home without any risk of a rushed delivery being performed by the freight delivery company.
Every product on our site has an estimated lead time – the number of business days it takes for an item to be processed and prepared for shipment at the warehouse. To provide you with the greatest selection on the internet, we ship from warehouses all over the country. Each lead time varies based on many different factors. Some warehouses stock items that can be shipped the same day or within 24 hours. Others items require a longer time (e.g. 2-4 weeks). Each product listing includes the estimated lead time below the product name: "Usually ships in XXX" to give you an idea how quickly your order will leave the warehouse. Delivery usually takes between 3 and 10 days from when your order ships. For residential deliveries, you will be contacted for an appointment as soon as your order arrives at the local terminal. For commercial deliveries, no appointment will be made. If you need to make one, please contact us.
The most important thing to remember about curb-side delivery is that you must inspect the package at the time of delivery. If the box has any missing items or damage, or if there is any reason for you to be at all concerned about delivery, please write "PRODUCT DAMAGED or PRODUCT MISSING" clearly on the sheet that they ask you to sign. This simply insures that if there is any missing/damage, it will be easy to take care of the problem. If you have already accepted the package and find that parts are missing or damaged, please contact us right away as speed matters since most carriers only let us file freight claims within 48 hours of delivery. |
